The club welcomed a new face, J Wrigley for this month's competition.
In the monochrome, the judge commented on the subtle grey white tones, in the print 'Early morning on the River Blackwater'. 'Baby Joe with mum' was considered a charming study of mother and child; 'Window Box' by K Pay, praised for it's symmetry and unusually showing flowers in monochrome; finally, J Weedon's 'Seagull over the Lighthouse', was enjoyed for it's moody atmosphere.
There were 28 colour print entries. The gentle harmonious colours in 'Pots and Grasses and red rust shades of 'Dust to Dust', both caught the judges attention, as did 'Reflections of Autumn' with its mirror reflection of autumn trees. 'Tranquility' was liked for its elements of nature and human nature, 'Conkers' and Aquilegia for their close up detail, and 'Boarded up' for it's technical manipulation and composition and Ulting church for it's richness.
Slides entries were temporarily down this month, due to absence. No tens in this group this time, but 9s for 'The Mariner', a boat's captain, the studio portrait' Over my shoulder', and the seasonal shot 'Autumn leaves'.
