The first monthly competition was judged by M Fuller, who has visited the club on several occasions . There were 12 monochrome prints, 22 colour prints and 17, slides.

Our judge for the evening offered constructive criticism coupled with complimentary comments on many of the pictures, being particularily impressed with 'Cat's eye view' and 'Shades of Henry Moore'.

There were two tens in the Mono, awarded to B Martin with 'Picnic by the lake, and 'China mask' for K Pay. In the colour  'Cats's eye view' and 'Shades of Henry Moore',received 10 points the photographers being A Pay and K Pay respectively. 91/2  was given to A Pay for his photo entitled 'Black Lamp'. There were also several nines, Daffs(J Weedon), Bluebell Walk (P Watkins),Sail(H Corlett), Burnett Moths and Painted Ship(T Biddulph) and  'Becalmed', by P Slight.

In the slides one 10 was awarded for a macro shot of a lily to B Martin. For the photo of 'The River Dee'  a 91/2 was awarded. Two members obtained 9's- R Adams for his shot of sailing yachts at Cowes and another close up shot of a poppy petal by D Gibbs.
